Members of the early bird club will be able to use Otto’s core features — linking your accounts, earning tokens, playing games and winning prizes — entirely for free from day one.

In the future, we'll be launching a premium membership that adds a bunch of other cool features, but it'll be totally up to you whether or not you want to upgrade.

Otto has a range of games that make finance fun, from regular prize draws to hidden rewards, digital scratchies, and flash draws!

Our newest addition is Savings Quest, a game designd to help you make a habit of saving. With checkpoints, streaks, and other surprises along the way, Savings Quest keeps you motivated as your work towards your goals!

We've got lots of other games in the works, with Debt Reduction and Investment Quests on the way.

To start out, there are regular cash prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000, plus prizes from sponsors that we announce as they change over time. You'll always be able to see the upcoming prize draws in your Otto account.

When you sign up with Otto, you’ll need to connect one of your existing accounts via our NZ-based open finance provider, Akahu. It's a simple, one-time process that takes a minute or two. 

Otto doesn't see or store your login credentials. Instead, we regularly get updates from Akahu that allow us to keep your Otto progress and token balance up to date.

Because we use Akahu, we are able to support the majority of Kiwis. 

The following banks are supported:

ANZ, ASB, BNZ, The Co-operative Bank, Heartland, Kiwibank, NZHL, Rabobank, TSB, and Westpac.

The following financial platforms are supported: 

Booster, Fisher Funds, Generate Kiwisaver, Hatch, Juno, Kernel Wealth, Kiwi Wealth, Milford Asset Management, Sharesies, Sharesight, Simplicity, Stake, and Superlife.

If you have an account with any of the businesses listed above, you’ll be able to link your accounts with Otto, and start earning tokens right away!

Not yet, but soon! We're currently working on an app for the Apple App Store and Google Play. In the meantime, you can use Otto in a browser or save it to your home screen on your mobile phone.

We don't provide a financial service, and we don't 'hold' or 'store' your money in any way. It remains in your existing account(s) under your control.

Otto is a rewards program for your money. As you work towards your goals, and link more of your accounts, you'll earn more tokens that can be used to enter our prize draws.
